The easiest way to check truck driver compliance.
Overview
Background
This design initiative was initiated in response to a request from a valued client at J. J. Keller, who sought a comprehensive solution facilitating daily driving status verification for their truck drivers.
The application is meticulously crafted with a core focus on establishing a user-friendly and time-effective process, empowering drivers to easily assess their compliance each time they commence their daily operations in a new vehicle.
The Problem
There is no app that exists under the umbrella of J.J Keller & Associates that accomplishs exactly what the Qualify app will accomplish.

The Goal
Deliver a streamlined user experience tailored to truck drivers, enabling them to effortlessly assess their daily driving compliance.
Starting with a Concept
Working from someone else's designs
Qualify started as a concept that was designed by someone else from J. J Keller. The designs were handed off to me and my team and we were to take those designs and modify them into what we thought would work for our client.
Hit the Ground Running
The First Screen in the Process when you pass Driver Qualifications.
Real World Designs
Every project I had worked on before this was my own project. I learned very quickly that sometimes in the real world, research and lo-fi mockups are a thing that the company may not think there is time for. I immediately started with the hi-fi designs.
The Path Towards Qualify(ing)
Driver is Qualified in J.J Keller's systems.
Unit number was found in the companies and J.J Keller records.
Driver has a Valid Driver's License.
Driver has a Valid Medical Card, and is qualified to drive that vehicle for the day.
Takeaways
What I learned
The most imprortant lesson that I learned from this project is that people want designs that are simple. I realize that this design's UI is not the greatest or even close to the greatest, but through all of our meetings with the client there was never a complaint about the visual in the design because simple is what they needed and wanted. UX design is about delivering an experience exactly how the client/customer wants and is easy to use for them.
Aftermath
The client was stuck in the negotiation phase for months with the app. Unfortunately they were still in negotiations when I was laid off from J. J. Keller. I have learned that they have shelved the project for another date because the client could never decide whether or not they wanted to take on the project.
